Murrow continues to explore the infinite possibilities of his medium, immersing us in his unique universe
Opening on Thursday, October 12 (6-8pm)
Two years after his last solo show at the gallery, Boston-based Ethan Murrow returns to Paris with "Magic Soil", an exhibition featuring a previously unseen collection of drawings and paintings. Always with remarkable technical mastery, Murrow continues to explore the infinite possibilities of his medium, immersing us in his unique universe: a surreal, imaginary world populated by farmers and gardeners at work. While the seeming absurdity of their quest may seem futile, they nevertheless bear witness to the considerable efforts required to cultivate the soil of a planet so fragile. By depicting these hard workers, the artist invites us to reflect on the value of agricultural labor and the commitment required to preserve the balance with our nourishing earth. The works challenge the idealization of agricultural traditions, while celebrating the humility and importance of farmers working in complicity with nature.
