The Frac Sud, through its off-site programming, helps to highlight the richness of the region's heritage. With the exhibition Odyssée contemporaine , it proposes to create a dialogue between the works in its collection and objects from the three heritage structures in the Alpes de Haute-Provence department. In the heart of the Luberon Regional Park, the towns of Saint-Maime, Simiane and Vachères offer an extraordinary heritage, partly preserved in the various local monuments and museums, each with its own thematic singularity. Geographically close to each other, they constitute the Chemins du patrimoine, offering a complementary range of approaches to this preserved territory.
Within the proposed itinerary between the three museums, a selection of contemporary works from the Frac Sud collection has been introduced, which dialogue, confront each other and offer a new perspective on the heritage pieces of the participating museums. How do these works from a plurality of artistic mediums and practices allow us to discover or rediscover the vernacular heritage of a region?
Karine Rougier paints a dreamlike universe using the contours of stones to put her characters into action, each one more intrepid than the last.
