Britney Spears, like a fairy tale princess, finds herself trapped in her golden castle. She then delves into stories and books of magic.
One day, the princess stumbles upon feminist tales written by witches. Inspired, she manages to free herself with the help of potions and a dragon, thus becoming the "worst princess of all"!
On Saturday, September 14, as part of the Failures exhibition, the gallery invites you to discover a selection of these empowering tales, chosen by Corentin Darré, a visual artist featured in the exhibition, who explores the universe of fairy tales to reveal our vulnerabilities, and La Déliche, a drag performer and founder of Contes à Paillettes, who reinterprets tales in an inclusive manner to bring a breeze of lightness and freedom.
Some frequently heard questions during La Déliche's readings:
"Ma'am, you have big eyes." - "They're to see you better, my children."
"Ma'am, you have broad shoulders." - "They're to better bear the unkind remarks of society, my children."
"Ma'am, you have big hair." - "It's to make my necklace shine brighter, my children."
"Ma'am, you have a big mouth." - "It's to tell you stories better, my children."
