Opening on Friday, February 7, at 6 PM
Clara Rivault, who works with ceramics and glass, crystallizes a certain tension between materials. Both sensitive and poetic, her approach to matter confronts us with a sense of opposition.
The delicacy of glass, coupled with the coldness of metal, resonates with details reminiscent of skin patterns, bones, and goosebumps.
These fragments of the body, intertwined, embody a form of oppression—a violence exerted upon bodies, particularly female ones. At Les Églises, Clara presents a monumental installation entitled Les Treillis. The interwoven patterns of braids and lattice structures merge to create a dynamic force. Inspired by mythology and ancestral narratives, where the past intertwines with the present in a harmonious entanglement, her work weaves lines and curves into a poetic ballet, inviting the viewer to lose themselves in the meanders of crystalline matter.
