Todd Hido endlessly roams, embarking on long car journeys in search of images that resonate with his own memories. Through his unique process of creating landscapes and his characteristic color palette, Hido hints at the quiet and mysterious side of suburban America—where uniform communities present a stable facade while suggesting the instability often hidden behind walls.
His photographs are featured in numerous private and public collections, including the Getty, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Pier 24 Photography holds the archives of all his published works. Hido has authored over a dozen monographs on his work.
